Have you ever wanted to share your thoughts, ideas, and vision, but something about public speaking is holding you back? I propose SELA Speak!, an organization in development that provides a welcoming learning environment and resources. Our mission is simple: give you a framework to build strong communication and public speaking skills, all in a supportive space where you can learn and practice.
The framework is currently designed to optimize these points:
- Support "bias for action" (simple worksheet booklet, no complicated systems)
- Get feedback that helps you improve right away (feedback worksheet)
- Learn in a supportive space (structured club meetings and a place to present your projects)
What we have so far:
- SELA Speak! website with member login to download and print your booklet
- Booklet #1: speech projects and feedback worksheets
What we need next:
- 4 to 5 core dedicated members, the founding members, to help build this organization from the ground up
- A physical space for club meetings in the Southeast LA area; preferably after 7pm, for at least 1 hour
